James and the Giant Peach

by Roald Dahl Adapted by Richard George

Wed 5th – Sat 8th January 2011 at 7.15pm in The Ron Barber Studio Theatre
Matinee: Sat 8th at 2.00pm

'Shut out all normal surroundings and go flying away to a magical worldwhere everything is enchanting and fantastic' Roald Dahl

Who wants to join James as he escapes from his horrible Aunts, Spiker and Sponge, and sets off inside the giant peach on his wonderful adventures - accompanied by Grasshopper, Earthworm, Spider, Glow-worm, Centipede, Silkworm and Ladybird?

Stage2 presents one of the most magical stories from one of the best-loved children's writers of all time, Roald Dahl. The creator of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, Matilda, The BFG and The Twits, Dahl's name is synonymous with children's dream of fantasy, magic and adventure.

James and the Giant Peach perfectly showcases his talents. 'Roald Dahl is without question the most successful children's writer in the world.' Brian Appleyard, The Independent.

The closeness of the audience in The Crescent Studio, the young age of the cast and the fabulous costumes and props, all made by young people at our Summer School, will fire the imagination and bring this fantastic tale vividly to life.

"Then, all at once, the panic stopped and a great gasp of astonishment went up all round. For now, a small boy was seen to be standing up there beside the other creatures" - James and The Giant Peach

This production is completely suitable for the whole family and would be a lovely first introduction to theatre. "The child knows the TV is in the next room. It is tough to hold a child's attention but it's a lovely thing to try to do." - Roald Dahl

Tickets: £8.50
