One hot summer night the wealthy Pollitt family is torn out of its imprisonment in the past by revelations of lust greed and envy. Possibly Tennessee Williams's greatest play, it sets a wonderful array of characters loose, and the sparks fly. Williams called his play "the one that comes closest to being a work of art and a work of craft" – see if you agree with him.
