Birmingham School of Acting presentsBilly LiarWed 12th - Sat 15th October 2011 in The Ron Barber Studio 12th - 14th at 7.45pm, 15th at 5.30pm. Matinee: 13th at 2.45pm ![]() It is a serio-comic tale about William Fisher, a 19 year old working class lad who lives with his parents in the fictional town of Stradhoughton in Yorkshire. Bored by his job as a lowly clerk with an undertaker, Billy spends his time indulging in fantasies and dreams of life in the big city and being a script writer. Billy Liar endures as an historically and socially perceptive piece that captures the strange period between the end of post-war austerity and the start of the 'swinging' 60s and its eponymous hedonism, where the young longed to be free of convention. This production is presented in association with Samuel French Limited Tickets: £7.00, £5.00 concessions, £2.50 students with NUS card |
