Ticklish Allsorts presents

Ticklish Allsorts

Fri 8th October 2010 at 7.30pm in The Main House

Lady Josephine Whittle (New addition to line-up )

Claire Corfield has worked extensively as a comedy actress, from twisted cabaret theatre company Voodoo Vaudeville, to Birmingham based improvisation group Funbags. She now presents Lady Josephine Whittle – a poet whose views may not be everyone's cup of tea, a bit like her dress sense. "Although a relative newcomer… this is a Character Act with enormous potential" (Gary Longden, Behind The Arras).

Jo Enright

For more than a decade now the highly acclaimed Brummie comedienne Jo Enright has crafted a completely unique style of stand-up comedy.  As well as performing both on television and radio, Jo also thrives on live theatre performances, and has several comedy awards under her belt. You will also recognise Jo from sitcoms such as ‘Phoenix Nights’ (C4); Cara in ‘Lab Rats’ (BBC2); Jackie of ‘Two-Up Two-Down’ in Peter Kay’s ‘Britain’s Got the Pop Factor…’ (C4) and most recently Carol in ‘Ideal’ (BBC3). “Jo Enright is one of the most naturally gifted comic talents I’ve ever seen.  I’d put her in the same league as Julie Walters.”  PETER KAY; “A great comedienne”  JACK DEE

Ashley Frieze

Performing on the UK comedy circuit since 2003, Ashley’s wit and jolly persona has earned him critical acclaim and a loyal following from his various shows and festival appearances. A versatile performer Ashley offers an exuberant performance of straight stand-up comedy as well as his musical act.
"Brilliant quick-fire lyrics", Three Weeks; "Ebullient" The Scotsman; "A very natural comic", Basingstoke Gazette; "Plump, bald man" Three Weeks

Matt Pritchard

Fifteen years after taking up magic as a teenage hobby, Matt’s still as passionate about it. He specialises in a combining close-up magic, mentalism, multimedia and stand-up comedy. "The funniest and most imaginative use of PowerPoint I've ever seen." Helen Keen (It is rocket science!); "Rapid-fire delivery of jokes and well rehearsed sleight of hand." Buxton Fringe Festival review

Funbags

Formed in 2009, Funbags is an improvisation troupe based in King’s Heath, Birmingham. Games in the style of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' are given the Funbags treatment as they blag their way through the unpredictable, often hilarious, sometimes strange and unnerving world of impro, guided only by wit and a s(l)ick sense of humour

Lee Dempsey

Comedy is his passion and he is working his way through every form - Silent / visual, mime, mask, character, plays, voices, stand-up, improvisation (with Funbags). You may recognise him as "drunk driver” from safety ads on the back of buses or as singing Dad in the recent Bernard Matthews TV advert.

Craig Deeley

Local lad Craig has been performing stand-up comedy all over the ruddy place since 2003, reaching the semi-final of Channel 4’s ‘So you Think You’re Funny’ competition at the Edinburgh Festival in 2004! Craig also hosts the Crescent Theatre’s own semi-regular Half-Moon Comedy Club. “Craig Deeley’s star is in its ascendancy with his assured delivery, broad appeal and original funny viewpoint on life." - Mrs Barbara Nice; “Charming Brummie with a nice take on life” – Gay Times
