South Birmingham Theatre presents
Philpotts Community/Shakespeare Shorts
Sunday 18th July 2010 at 2.30 and 7.00pm in The Ron Barber Studio
Philpott’s Community
Judith Philpott is struggling to maintain the crumbling Community Hall. Whilst battling against all odds she is determined to increase local people’s interests.
In the meantime, the community kitchen, neglected by Norma after her husband dies, is on the verge of being condemned due to its rat infestation. Just when Judith and Norma’s lives couldn’t get any worse, a mysterious letter arrives, leading to Norma’s long lost sister Kathleen Cusack, a wealthy entrepreneur well known for her television show “Lion’s Pen”.
A heart warming and comical fast moving portrayal of characters presented by a large talented cast of 11-16 year olds.
