Mary Stuart

by Friedrich Schiller. A new version by Andrew Cowie

Sat 6th – Sat 13th November 2010 in The Ron Barber Studio Theatre
After Dark: Fri 12th

A foreign national, the Scottish Queen Mary Stuart, is held captive on suspicion of plotting to bring down the English state and Queen Elizabeth. She remains imprisoned without charge for many years, with only the barest of attention paid to the due process of the law, while the English Queen and court try to decide how best to deal with her. In a heated and antagonistic atmosphere of religious extremism, accusation and counter-accusation, the supporters of the two queens will do anything to achieve their ends.

An exciting new production of Schiller's classic tragedy will breathe life into the contemporary parallels of the famous historical power-struggle.

Five Star Review

The intimacy and connection between actors and audience are wonderful, as one is able to catch every nuance, expression and vocal intonation in an exceptional theatrical experience.
