Bournville Musical Theatre Company present
Fiddler on the Roof
Tue 27th April – Sat 1st May 2010 at 7.30pm in The Main House
Matinee: Sat 1st at 2.30pm
Bournville Musical Theatre Company is proud to present Fiddler on the Roof at the Crescent Theatre.
This show has been nominated for ten Tony Awards, winning nine, including best musical, score, book, direction and choreography.
Set in Tsarist Russia in 1905, the story centres on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope with both the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters – each one’s choice of husband moves further away from the customs of their faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village. It includes well-known musical numbers such as ‘If I were a Rich Man’ and ‘Matchmaker’ and will be performed using the authentic choreography including the famous bottle dance.
The stage show was nominated for ten Tony Awards, winning nine, including best musical, score, book, direction and choreography.
