Sparks fly in Chekhov’s classic comedy

A father, a single daughter and a wealthy suitor – a recipe for domestic bliss? Maybe. There are certainly more than a few laughs as the father tries to broker a marriage deal, or is it really just a land deal?

To commemorate the 85th Anniversary of the formation of The Municipal Players, The Crescent presents The Proposal in this special gala performance at The Council House, before the Lord and Lady Mayoress, Councillor Michael Wilkes and Mrs Vivienne Wilkes, with all proceeds being donated to the Lord Mayor’s charities.

ArtsFest 2009There will be a second performance as part of ArtsFest 2009 on Saturday 12th at 1.30pm in The Museum and Art Gallery - Gallery 21. This is a free perfomance for all - if you don't think you like Chekhov why not give this a try?
