"If marriages were made by putting all the men's names into one sack and the women's names into another, and having them taken out… like lottery numbers, there would be just as high a percentage of happy marriages as we have now."
Misalliance takes place on a single afternoon. John Tarleton’s daughter Hypatia is longing for adventure, which duly arrives in the form of a dishy airline pilot and an exotic female acrobat. As the various characters assembled take stock of each other, eight marriage proposals are offered, with Shaw’s socialist theme questioning conventional views on marriage and social order all the while.
Note: Misalliance includes smoking.
