QUIVER
Forum Theatre Creating Change in the Community
Monday 23rd July 2007
Doors open at 6.30pm at the Main House
Birmingham Association of Youth Clubs (bayc) will present a series of exclusive interactive drama performances in collaboration with the Arts Council.
Performances from drama group 2nd Productions and two local youth groups The Gallery and Mossley will include use of Forum Theatre, a ground breaking style of interactive performance.
The youth charity will focus on current key issues that impact or are of interest to young people and their lives such as stereotypes, bullying and the rights of the child.
Each group will perform a short play that has a central character, the protagonist; and an interactive host, the joker who works with the audience to enable them to interact as spect-actors to change the direction of the piece.A kind of theatrical debate, in which experiences and ideas are rehearsed and shared, generating both solidarity and a sense of empowerment.
