Life on The Stairs
3rd - 11th August 2007 at 7.30 in The Main House
(Matinees 4th & 11th at 2.30 - unsuitable for under 11s)
Welcome to the Ends, a place of Music, a place of culture a place of poverty, crime and violence. "Life on the stairs" follows the lives of six youngsters who are brought together by these Ends. When Damien is shot and killed at the Notorious "Club Diabolic" war is declared throughout the estate...well it's something to do aint it?
This powerful new play fuses the underground grime scene with dance and drama to produce what can only be called an arts explosion. Be prepared to laugh, cry and be blown away by the blazing tunes but be warned, "Life on the Stairs" is not for the faint hearted. It's all about choice, so you make yours!!!
This play tells of how easily a neglected youth falls into a life of crime, whilst speaking out against gang culture and gun violence. The story is one of hope and friendship and most importantly it tells the youth that they hold the power of life and death in their hands. This is a very relevant tale for a community life where gun and knife culture is often seen as hip and cool amongst the youth.
Faith Drama Productions bring their play on tour to Birmingham after a successful London run.
Suitable for ages 11 upwards.
Tickets: £5.00 (no concessions)
