The Arcadians Present
Anything Goes
by Cole Porter
9th – 13th October 2007 at 7.30pm in The Main House
Set on the S.S. American - a luxury liner heading for England - the perfunctory plot tells the tale of stowaway Billy Crocker and his desperate pursuit of Hope Harcourt, the debutante fiancée of English aristocrat, Lord Oakleigh. Also thrown into the mixing pot of characters are Moonface Martin (Public Enemy No. 13), and an evangelising nightclub singer, Reno Sweeney. With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, this musical comedy contains classics such as 'I Get A Kick Out Of You', 'It's De-Lovely', 'You're The Top' and the title number 'Anything Goes'.
