Ain’t Misbehavin’ – The Fats Waller Musical
Music by Fats Waller. Arranged by Luther Henderson, Jeffrey Gutcheon and William Elliot
Conceived by Richard Maltby Jr
Mon. 9th April 2007 at 7.30pm - Main House
The Joint is Jumpin’ as Ain’t Misbehavin’ takes to the road Spreading the Rhythm Around with a brand new UK tour of the award winning Fats Waller’s musical.
Following its debut at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) in April 2006 - Ain’t Misbehavin’ dips into the buzzing 1930’s Harlem Jazz scene to reveal the bluesy, swinging and toe-tapping works of the legendary Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller.
“I would unreservedly give them ten out of ten” - BBC
With an eleven strong ensemble cast of final year LIPA students, be prepared to rise off your seats at the vibrancy and enthusiasm of house-raising hits such as A Handful of Keys, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Your Feet’s Too Big - whilst being moved and entranced by the melancholic harmonies of Black and Blue.
Ain’t Misbehavin’ is an evening of good old fashioned fun and down right cheeky behaviour!
"…An excellent show which revealed that our great-grandparents knew how to have fun. Of course I mean it - : it’s a sin to tell a lie.” BBC Online 2006 Spencer Leigh
