The proper title for this version of the classic tale is The True Adventures of Pinocchio.  It harks back to the original story before Walt Disney adapted it, taking out some of the more thrilling and darker elements of the tale to appeal to a mass audience.

Times have changed and, sixty five years later, a glance at books and TV aimed at children today shows that they like their tales tinged with reality.  Even Harry Potter books accept that bad things happen to good people and, with the return of the Daleks in the new Dr Who, the time seems right for a Pinocchio that has something to say to a new generation.

Like all good stories, it is one person's quest to find something they think they need (courage, heart, brain, home, etc) and find out something important about themselves along the way.  In our case Pinocchio wants to become human but has to find out the hard way that it takes more than flesh and blood to be a 'real boy'.

But you're not in for an evening of doom and gloom - far from it!  This is a very funny show with animals of all kinds from a talking raccon to a very large fish!

We're not giving any more away - you'll have to come and see it to find out what happens!
