Pygmalion: 4 - 6 April at 7.30
'Pygmalion' is the play that inspired the musical 'My Fair Lady'. The film version starred Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. It tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, who is transformed from cockney flower girl into a duchess of high society. It was first performed in 1914 and had its first night audience 'roaring with laughter', continuing to delight packed houses ever since. |

'Semi-Detached' was first produced in the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry in 1962. It is set in the fictional Midlands suburb of bowlihull. The hero. Fred Midway, is a devious insurance agent, whose Sunday morning is disturbed when the love lives of his three children come to an unfortunate and simultaneous crisis. Only Fred has the necessary cunning to find a solution. The part of Fred was originally played by Leonard Rossiter. |
