Little Shop of Horrors’ began life as a 1960 low budget, non-musical B-movie, which was subsequently voted one of The 100 Worst Movies Ever Made! From such humble beginnings Howard Asman and Alan Menken went on to create an A-grade musical treat.

A parody of all those ‘50s films where vegetables were trying to take over the world, and of the soft rock and ‘girlie’ backing groups of the period, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ has achieved both critical success (voted Best Musical of the Year in 1984) and popular success, gaining a cult status all of its own.

Set in the 1950s, Little Shop of Horrors is a musical satire on such things as science fiction, 'B' movies, musical comedy and the Faust legend.
